Happy Last Day of School!

 Here are a few field day pictures!  It's a beautiful day outside!

Phonics - We have been working on words with the suffix es.  This last week of school we will be working on a review unit.

Reading - This week we will do one more round of daily 5.  The class has grown so much as readers this year!

Math - In math we worked on measuring in centimeters and inches.  We practiced with items in our classroom.  We estimated and then measured.  We learned about different types of graphs.  We learned about bar graphs, pictographs, and tally graphs.  We practiced math facts.  We worked on counting coins.

Science - We are on activity 3 of designs inspired by nature.  We learned about external parts of plants and animals.  We are learning about structure and function.  We read a book called What If You Had Animal Ears.  Our next job is to created our own animal ears.  

Writing - We did my favorite activity!  On the first day of school, I had the students write and illustrate what they did on that day.  Now that it's the end of the year, I had the students write and illustrate what they are going to do on summer vacation.  Then we compared the two writings/illustrations.  The growth is amazing!
