Spelling - We have finished all the spelling lists for the year!  :)

Phonics - We have been learning about the suffix s, when to use the suffix -es, and that when a word ends with y you change the y to i, and add es.

Religion - We have finished all of our Promise Papers for the year.  Now we are working on finishing up our Promise Books.  This week we talked about the Angel of God Prayer and where you can pray.  We also spent some time in Adoration.  We continue to practice our virtues and values of orderliness and modesty.

Math - In math we worked on place value (ones, tens, and hundreds), reviewed counting coins (pennies, dimes, and nickels), reviewed telling time to the :00 and the :30, and we worked on fractions.

Science - Our final project of animal adaptations was designing a shoe for a traveler in one of these environments - The Arctic, The African Savanna, The Amazon Rainforest, and The Sahara Desert.  The students had to design the shoe using 3 adaptations - camouflage, locomotion, and protection.

The Arctic

The African Savanna

The Amazon Rainforest

The Sahara Desert

Social Studies - We are working on learning all 50 states.  We have been learning each state in ABC order (we are up to 20), the capital, and a few facts.  Each time we learn a state, we add it to our state puzzle.  We have also learned a few fun state songs.  Our favorite is The Fifty Nifty!

These two decided to write every state!
