Spelling - We will not have a new list this week.  This week in phonics we are still focusing on 2 syllable words with one closed syllable and one v-e syllable.

Phonics - In phonics we are working on words with 2 syllables.  One syllable is closed and one syllable is a v-e syllable.

Religion - In Religion our Promise Paper focused on the resurrection and was titled - He is Risen!
We also watched a Brother Francis video also titled He is Risen.  We also had adoration.

Writing - We continued our work on acrostic poems.  The students are becoming experts at writing them.  This week we will introduce cinquain poems.  A cinquain poem has five lines.  The first line is the title, the second line has 2 adjectives about the title, the 3rd line has 3 action words about the title, the 4th line has 4 thoughts about the title, and the 5th line has one word - a synonym of the title.

Science - In science we worked on learning adaptions a traveler would need to visit each environment.  This week we will make travel brochures for the environments.

Reading - We continue to work in reading groups and centers every day.

Math - In math we worked on greater than, less than, and equal to, and dividing a set of objects by sharing them.

A few more of our Stanleys came back -

We celebrated Jimmy's birthday and Miss Falkenberg's birthday -

Field Trips - We have a few field trips coming up in May.  May 5th we are going to the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center.  May 9th we are going to The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion.  May 27th we are going to The Building for Kids.  We will need chaperones for the Building for Kids field trip.  That field trip is all day.  Please reach out if you would be interested in going to the children's museum with us.  Thank you!

Have a great week!

Religion - We have been very busy practicing for our mass!  The students did a great job!  We have been focusing on Lent. This last week we learned about Holy Week.  We finished our last Brother Francis Lent video.  We continue to focus on the virtues and values of temperance and moderation.  We also finished up our Lent journals.  Our final entry was to write and draw about how you think God sees you.
