A few FYIs-

First Grade Math - This week we worked on equation chains.  We also worked on adding 3 and 4 numbers while finding an easy way to do it.  (find a 10 or find a double)

First Grade Phonics - We are testing on Unit 11 today.  This unit focused on vowel-consonant-e syllables with and without suffix s.

Reading - This week we continued to work on synonyms and antonyms.

Writing - April is National Poetry Month.  The kids have been writing amazing poems.  We have written acrostic poems and personal cinquains.  They have turned out absolutely awesome!

Social Studies - We have now learned all fifty states and capitals!

Science - We have built terrariums and aquariums.  Our aquariums have water plants and our terrariums have land plants.  Our seeds that we planted have mostly started to grow roots and sprout.

***Please remember to return your permission slips and your report card envelopes.
