A few updates -

First Grade Math - We started a new unit today.  We are working on telling time.

First Grade Phonics - Phonics - We are learning about blends and r-controlled vowels.  (Bossy R)

Science - Our caterpillars are growing!  :)  This week we learned about the body parts of the caterpillars.

Religion - We spent all of our Religion time practicing for our mass this week.  The kids did a great job today!

STREAM - Last week we made a flying machine.  This week we made a helicopter.  Next week we are going to make a jet ski.  The kids also are learning how to program their Legos to move.

Reading - During daily 5 I have been pulling students and doing running records with them.  They are all improving so much!  This week we continued to work on compound words.

Handwriting - We continue to practice our letters.  The second graders are really enjoying learning cursive, although they are finding it a little challenging.  :)

Writing / Computer - The Zoo Burst stories are going great!  It really makes their stories come to life!  I am so proud of how the kids can log on, type, edit, change backgrounds, change colors, find pictures, etc.
