A few FYIs -

First Grade Math - We have finished the first grade math book!  Our last unit was all about adding two digit numbers (and carrying the 1).  Next week we are going to start working out of the second grade math book.  :)

First Grade Phonics - Today we started unit 10.  We are learning more vowel teams.  We are also learning how to tap words that have more than 4 sounds.

Handwriting - We are continuing to work through our workbook.  The second graders are doing a great job on their cursive letters!  So far we've only worked on lower case letters and they are getting excited to learn the capital letters.

Science - This week we learned about the butterfly body parts.

Computer - This week, in honor of Dr. Seuss, we went to the website www.seussville.com during our computer block.

Reading - Our word work center in daily 5 revolved around Dr. Seuss.

Religion - Next week we have mass.  Today we chose mass parts.  They are as follows -
   Greeters - Misha, Brett, Dylan, Megan, Mary
   Cross - Rowen
   Book - Kyan
   Introduction - Enzo
   First Reading - Cassie, Teddy, Keegan, Max
   Responsorial Psalm - Ruby, Reese, Ella
   Petitions - Mary, Megan, Heath, Mia, Landon, Cullan, Madison, Zak
   Bread - Kate
   Wine - Katey
   Rice Bowl - Hannah

***Tomorrow is a half day.  Dismissal is at 11:30.  It is also a dress down day.  :)
