Phonics - We learned two new glued sounds -am and -an.  A glued sound is when there is more than one sound, but they are glued very closely together.  When we tap out a glued sound we "glue" our fingers together.

Reading - We continue to work in reading groups and centers.  This week our word work centers will change to a Thanksgiving theme.

Math - We continue to work on strategies for adding three numbers.  We have learned to look for making a double or making ten.  We can also count on or use a circle drawing to help us.

Religion - We finished up our Friendzy unit "I Can Do It" this week.  We read and discussed the Bible story Jonah and the Whale.  We focused on our virtues and values of sincerity and respect.  The BOLT assembly will be Monday morning.  At the BOLT assembly we recognize students who show that they have been demonstrating the monthly virtues.

Buddies - We played Halloween bingo and a costume game with our buddies this week!

And...there's an election this week...A COW ELECTION!  We can vote for America's favorite cow!  Of course our favorite cow is Ethel from Schleis Farm in Kewaunee, Wi. :)

Have a great week!
