Spelling - We will not have a spelling list this week.
Phonics - We continue to work on the ng/nk glued sounds.
Religion - We read a Bible story every day and add to our Jesse Tree. We continue to learn about Advent. This week is the third week - the pink candle - joy. Last week's Promise Paper focused on Our Lady of Guadalupe and Juan Diego. We continue to read our virtues and values cards. We have read through all of the generosity cards. We are now focusing on responsibility - doing the right thing at the right time.
Science - We have started our next PLTW unit - The Sun, The Moon, and The Stars. In our first lesson we are learning about the sun. We learned about sundials and made our own. We went outside on a sunny day to test our sundials.
Math - We have been learning about fact families, 2 digit addition without regrouping, and place value (ones, tens, and hundreds)
Reading - We work in reading groups and daily 5 centers every day. The students have been busy in read to self, read to someone, listen to reading, work on writing, and word work!
